Role
Led content design for a new shopping list feature
Wrote all copy and collaborated with design and product management to ensure a successful pilot
Refined copy based on user testing feedback
Goal
Pilot the shopping list feature as a potential core app function and validate key product assumptions
Expand the engaged member base
Strengthen the connection between online and in-store shopping to align with business strategy
Impact
The pilot program exceeded expectations, with 50% of interested members opting in
Following the pilot’s success, the shopping list feature became a core functionality
Now accessible to 2 million active weekly users
Opting into the pilot program
My considerations:
Conversational, friendly language to get users excited
Descriptive links and injecting tone appropriately into CTAs
Empty states & actions
My considerations:
Educate users on the 3 specific ways they can use the feature
Make actionable language clear — adding items, removing items and deleting list
Let users know they can share the good and bad in the survey, through casual and empathetic language
A note on improvements: Get rid of ableist language “walking through the aisles”
